The console
with modules of four faders each, the central module for managing the mixer, possibly ancillary modules with additional keys and knobs, and the touch screen.
The central processor
(MIXBRAIN) with 1 to 3 PCIMIX modules, each one with a 2'048 x 2'048 matrix and the DSP modules for 24 faders.
The concentrator(s)
(MIXIO) with the interfaces for up to 128 inputs and 128 outputs and 64 GPIO. Up to four concentrators can be cascaded.
The configuration software
that allows the user to freely allocate the functions of the keys and knobs, and the display texts.
Maximum distances
(CAT 5 cables):
Console - MIXBRAIN: 50 m
MIXBRAIN - first concentrator: 50 m
Distance between concentrators: 50 m
Inputs/Outputs
Up to 512 inputs and 512 outputs (mono equivalent), installed in four concentrators.
Up to 256 GPIO, installed in four concentrators.
Great variety of interface types: AES/EBU (48, 44.1 and externally clocked), analogue, 2 Mbps, MADI.
Quantity of fader channels
With one PCIMIX module: 24 channels.
It is possible to insert up to three modules.
Equipment of every fader channel
Filter bank with 6 freely configurable filters: Low pass, high pass, band pass (with adjustable frequency, Q and gain/attenuation).
Compressor/limiter with the possibility to control the compressor by another signal.
Gain adjustment.
Bal/Pan and Width adjustment.
Phase inversion.
Stereo-mono conversion, L/R, LL and RR inversion.
Surround Sound Panning.
Insert.
The signal processing sequence (filter bank, dynamics, signal tapping point for dB meter, pre fader, fader, Bal/Pan, Width, Insert) can be selected for every channel.
Along every fader there are LEDs to indicate the level (input or n-1) and the attenuation due to compressing.
Sum busses of the mixer
38 stereo sums with the following inputs: 24 faders (pre or post fader) plus 4 external inputs. Every one of these sums includes:
Gain, stereo-mono conversion, compressor/limiter.
Possibility to connect the sum as pre or post fader (with separate gain adjustment).
The output level can be displayed on the screen (one sum at a time).
These sums can be used as master sums (2 to 8), Aux (4 to 24), group (0 to 8), PFL (1 to 4), recording (0 to 1), n-1 (quantity equal to the number of faders), sum of the presenter desk, surround master (requires 6 sum busses).
Additional sums
16 stereo - mono converters.
2 stereo sums with 32 inputs each
Twelve monitoring outputs, to be used for:
1 for the main loudspeakers.
1 for the headphones.
8 for up to 4 MIXBOX (remote control unit) with 1 loudspeaker and 1 headphone output each.
1 studio unit.
3 gains for possible surround-sound signal.
Up to 24 freely configurable selection keys, for input or output signals.
The monitoring outputs are equipped with: Gain, Bal/Pan, Width, stereo - mono conversion, phase inversion.
dB meters on the screen
Selectable scale.
4 dB meters: Master, PFL, Monitoring, selectable signal (matrix input, Master, Aux, fader input, recording bus, PFL bus).
38 dB meter busses for level display on separate window.
Along every fader there are LEDs that indicate the input or output level (operator selectable).
Along every fader there are LEDs that indicate the gain reduction due to compressing.
Intercom
Three independent intercom circuits on every mixer.
One circuit for every MIXBOX.
Automatic blocking at the mixers that are on air.
GPIO for intercom connections to external mixers.
Software
Login with various access rights.
Saving and loading of configurations for faders, compressors, filters, and complete mixer (snapshots)
Comfortable managing of the antenna outputs (switching, GPIO, etc.).
The functions and the colours of the keys, the functions of the rotary knobs, and the texts on the displays can be configured by the operator very easily.
SERIX can be configured from a PC via IP.
Back up, log file, and help functions.
Surround Sound
SERIX generates 5.1 signals from a mono or stereo signal, with easily operated panning.
An external mono signal or an external 5.1 signal can be mixed with the internally generated surround signal.
